2: perfectly feasible, and how long is a piece of string? You could probably do it yourself in the garage for something like £7-800 in materials, I would think. I've made a few glass fibre moulds for lamp posts which we then have cast in aluminium. It's a time consuming and messy process, but not a particularly difficult one. An entire shell in one piece would be tricky, and I should think impractical, but you could certainly achieve something with some cunning and thought as to the structure and how it related to external appearance, trying to make it strong, make all the strength-giving box sections of a steel shell etc...

1. Where did they put the tags? I've been looking at a chassis that I stripped - no sign. Did Citroen stop doing chassis tags at some point? If so, when?

2. Hmm. Maybe I'll stick with chucking rusty stuff into ever bigger vats of molasses and water.

I might be wrong, and it wasn't 2cvs, but my Amis had the vin plate on the front chassis leg and under the rear floor may on the chassis top, plate. Come to think of it, my AZAM has it on the chassis leg too.

I'd like to see a full fibreglass shell.

I'd really like to do a fibreglass shell... haven't got the first idea where to start though. That - plus time and money - are the only things stopping me.

Smiffy,
probably the best plan, unless you wanted to get into fabricating steel or aluminium support panels for the more highly stressed areas of a 2CV bodyshell.
B posts would be near the top of that list, with the A posts not too far behind, then there are the lower bulkhead and rear seat boxes which provide support for the sills, C posts to consider for their contribution to rear seat belt anchorage strength, etc, etc.

Youd have to do it much like the metal pieces in the factory, sides and the the structure,

Once you have the mould set up and learnt its characteristics the its easy

You would want to use a woven cloth and not the chop strand shite the world seems to think is good strong yes but not too workable

Once the mould has been perfected, you can use it to make carbon fibre bodys

I have had a quick look and not found anything, but has anyone done a Missing in Action sort of thread. A sort of Lost and found thing for Old cars we used to own that just dropped off the radar?
Good idea? Shite Idea?

Heres one I Crashed earlier but it was supposedly rebuilt...DVLA says no though. Cool plate though :D

I can't help but think it would have been livened up a bit with some Looney Toons style sound and visual effects...

Adding sound effects works for this bit of rank stupidity, too!

Chrissie Hynde is nearly as old as my Grandma and I'd still smash her. Just thought I'd put that out there.
