Post insurance&stickers/decals
my brother looked on another forum, someone posted that certain insurance companys will void any claims ,if the citreon has non-standard "stickers" attached to the bodywork!
i,ve read(on here i think) that the front lights on 2cv,s may have insurance probs if they have the metal shade fitted :?:

hmm, pretty sure you can sticker up your 2cv without the insurance world falling upon you

peaked head light visors should be banned on a matter of taste
but technically you may breach your insurance if you modify the vehicle and don't tell the insurance company

Post Re: insurance&stickers/decals
I had agreed value insurance cancelled recently as the pictures sent showed the interior with cloth covered door cards and the fact the outside is zebra stripes.

I have never declared either as non standard !

The stripes have been on the car since new.

I added whilst your at it you had better include the non standard BX seats as well.

Cost me an increase in premium and agreement they would only pay to restore the car to white should it require it.

They are legally correct but you wonder where they would draw the line to wriggle out of a claim.

My 2CV has BX seats & peaked headlamp visors.
I declared both to my insurers [Adrian Flux] and I've had no problems.

I rather like mine ......they have a light in the top which lights up bright on "full" beam and dull on "dipped" beam [which saved me the trouble of delving into the wiring to wire up a "main beam indicator" light] .....which again [admitably] .....,is totally un-neccessary on a 2CV anyway :|

The uk had gone fucking crazy. How is a pair of clothed seats going to make any difference between stuffing your car or not ?!

As I stated in my earlier post ......I've declared all the "extras" :| [along with all the other "modifations" on my 2CV] .....also,they are quite visible in the [excellent quality] pics which I was requested to forward with my renewal acceptance form.
They accepted it .....[and my "agreed value" btw]
:? So :?: ....do the insurance assessors actually read our renewal form and view the pics or throw them straight in the 'bin :?: .
And ....having been involved in 2CVGB [& the CCC] since the early 1980's ..... I doubt if there are many "standard" A-series cars in existance now .....it's the nature of 2CV's [etc] to wanna alter/modify [read "personalise"] them.

How is a GB sticker (which is what the 2cvgb sticker essentially is) be a modification?!

The world has gone crazy.

I can't believe they say a sticker needs to be declared.

Does that mean bumper tape on non original'ly bumpers need to be declared? What about overriders - if you have them not fitted..? Adventure bars? Or are 'original options (or whatever the wording) allowed ??

Makes me so angry
