Post Wipers - reluctant to start!
When I turn my wipers on for the first time on the first journey of the day they're reluctant to start. The first swish of the blades is completed at a snail's pace, and occasionally even slower than that! After that they're fine, no matter how many times I turn the wipers off and on again.

On subsequent journeys during the day the wipers work just fine, and always wipe at the speed I'd expect.

Why would this be happening?

Fair enough. Just getting pre-exam nerves - it's MOT day on Friday!

Take a look at the brushes are they in good condition, and is your collector clean, they often get wet, (2cv's leak at whiper axles again get used to it) polluting the brushes and or collector, grease all axles, but hey when it runs leaf it that way its a lot of work, removing the dashoard, etc.etc,
this is only paying off when you already have a tested good one and you only need to pop it in.......

Try to lubricate the spindles and links.
If you leave it then your motor is in danger.
Just check the prices of them.

I fitted a relay to my wiper motor with much improved wiping ability!

A relay?
Interesting. Where exactly?

The relay is switched by the switch on the dash and takes power straight off the battery (via the fusebox) to the wiper motor.
