wood is not really the tool for the job 12mm bolt or bar will do a better job of transmitting the shock

Re: Which Way Round? Thanks. I'll give it another go. I'll try and get hold of some 12mm bar. I found when using the bolt the grease escaped via the thread but I take on board that wood absorbs too much of the energy.

Re: Which Way Round? Steve, for the ones which are badly worn, I find that a 1/2" bar does the trick ( after a bit of a polish with 60 grit and the wire wheel ).
