So last night I dreamed I was presenting Grand Designs, documenting a family who were rebuilding a 1000 year old stone church. And my co-presenter was Arthur Conan Doyle... what does this mean?

Why is it that 2cv's never break and modern shit does??

Alternator just packed up on the 106, makes for fun night driving..

Given the state of it it's done well (133k miles)

If only that were true James!

I seem to recall reading many times in your wolly thread about you wanting to push your 2CV into the sea cos it's broken again........ ;)

My van, on the other hand, rarely breaks down. That's purely because it doesn't work in the first place!

I'm thinking of buying an XM. This one here, in fact ...

Currently £950 with 40 minutes to go.

It's not just any XM, it's quite a nice example of the 2.5 turbo diesel with a manual gearbox, which I'm told is now quite rare. Problem is, I'd have to sell my Land Rover in order to buy it. What should I do? :?

Stick with the Landie. Meccano kit wins every time ;)

^^ Missed it. I bid £1100 in the last few seconds but it went for £1220. I must admit, I'm not too unhappy about that ... nice as it is, I'm not sure it's really my sort of car. And it wouldn't fit on my drive.

There's a reason they're rare now. Don't walk away - RUN.
