I heard today that George (GasMark 5) had an accident on the way back from the ICCCR - his front left tyre blew out on a bend and he rolled his blue spesh down an embankment and into a ditch. Both he and his passenger are ok, although she had to have some glass removed from her arm.

Sounds like George's quick reactions and actions when the car came to a halt saved the situation.

Glad you're both ok and with your skills George you'll have the car sorted in no time!

Everyone fully recovered now, and I've just phoned the insurers today, nothing official, but apparently it will only be a cat. B write off, and we should be able to buy it back.
So, no chance of it existing as F741 HGU again. It won't be until my van is finished, but assuming we get the wreckage back, I am going to rebuild it. I've got registration documents for a 2cv that no longer exists, got given it along with some parts I bought. I was worried I'd end up having to indefinitely SORN a non-existent car for the rest of my life, however it's actually quite fortunate! :)
I have spare wings, bonnets, doors, axles, wheels and suspension arms / cans etc.
As soon as the van is finished then, I'll be on the look out for a rotten shell, and an SLC chassis. It will live again, eventually, in some form or another! 8-) 8-)

(Unfortunately I got into university, so it might be a while...)

University of Kent, to do physics. The cost of the cheapest accommodation there neatly cancels out my entire loan, so I'm rather hoping I can get a job there and scrounge a bit of parents...

Just need to try and find some workshop facilities in the area :P

At least you're close to the channel ports to make regular trips across La Manche

Is that Canterbury? You need to get hold of Andy Briggs of the Kentish Hoppers, he's a right sound fella and can usually help you out with bits and pieces.

Yep, Andy works at the university. Fire and safety, I think. He's got loads of A stuff and other collections.

If he decides to do another scum camp in October/November might see you there.

I hope he does because I have a gramophone for him. :D

RIP Neil Armstrong- A True Hero.

I wonder if he ever drove a 2CV? I know Buzz Aldrin has and really likes them.
