Post A Series Lingo Its another Language I tell ya!
Here i am daring to post a Thread thats not about my car specifically, Be gentle please :D
Anyway Coming from the world of VWs,Yanks, Classics, Customs.
I know there are various things that are specific to each marque and Im sure in time I will learn them.
Thing Is It's a bit like an In-joke, It tends to go straight over ones head if not in the know.

Its a bit like being over 40 and suddenly arriving on a Forum for the first time, All the LOLs and LMAO, WTFs IIRCs etc...Sort of leaves you WTF LOL! :?
Well Im not 12 any more but I have learnt to Bumble my way throught T Interweb.

So anyway What's the A Series Lingo that I and other Newbs need to know?

Well from working through I have learnt of things like... Knife edges, Longerons, Wollies...
and a
bit of a search has given me a rough idea of what they all are too.

I cannot think of any others right now that I am stumped by .. but for Instance What is a Sidewinder?
I really do have no idea.

Please feel free to add anything else that might be useful to myself or anyone that might be a bit new to the Citroen thing.

Sidewinder is an A-Series that's been fitted with a Citroen GS engine, I think.
Here's one:

Notice the extended bonnets. Not to everyone's taste, but tend to go pretty quick!

Well, I'll start with this one. A Sidewinder is the name give to a 2cv with an Amisuper/GS/GSA 4cyl engine on an Amisuper chassis. The name was originally coined by the Two Horse stable citroen dealer who built the conversions from new cars and sold them as such, never an official Citroen thing, but as close as you could get. The name stuck and is generally applied nowadays to anything built with a 4cyl engine and 2cv/dyane body.

Dunno. Didn't the adverts have a snake on them? The cars were usually finished in 'reverse beachcomber' style, in blue with white stripes. Plus, it sounds cool, doesn't it?

Nothing as yet unfortunately (Yes you have caught me on the Hop here) but feel free to chip in with anything you feel is going to be helpful, or anything that just pops up in your head.

I have much to learn.
