Tomorrow I'll be mostly riding this beast, from Tilburg to my parents house in Valkenburg, a +/- 140km trip, depending on the wind..

What has the wind to do with the KM?? 140 km = 140 km !

Well done Tom, great fun riding Solexes either short or long distances. One of SolexOz members here in Australia, Shayne Harris rode his 1974 3800 from Perth Western Australia to Dubbo in New South Wales in 2006. This is virtually right across the continent and through some Australia's most desolate regions, mostly desert. The distance covered was 2200 miles or 3450 Kilometres including a 200 mile stretch of unmade (dirt and gravel) road. The adventure took 14 days.
So there's a challenge for you.
We have a very active group here in OZ and our club website is http://www.solexoz.org
Best wishes,
Geoff :D

I had a brief look at your link, (which is great) but is there a website or blog or similar covering this cross Aus Solex adventure? I'd love to read more about that!

Great site Geoff!
As Russell says, I would like to read more about the crossing of Australia on the Solex. Any pictures or so of that?

I see you need to wear a helmet when riding, what are the others rules/laws regarding Solexes down under?
are parts easily available over there?

Hi Tom and Russell,
yes Google Pioneertracks.com, it is a good read,
Shayne has written a number of his adventures on this site.
