Just seems like a weird thing to do. It's not an improvement. I could understand it if looking like a Transformer toy made it work better or something, but this is just change for its own sake. A solution looking for a problem. And it looks shite, as we've already established.

It's supposed to be a kit car version - but the original is more kit-car-like than some kit cars out there so why bother and make it look daft?

The crappest thing of all (besides the fact that it looks shit, plus the price) is that it's not even a proper kit: you still need a 2CV body shell to work on... and those are the things that are getting rare.

The panels that you get for the Texto thing are not hard to find in their original guise. Far more useful would be a replacement body shell.
