Post 1976 Dyane 6.52
I bought this Dyane back in Jan 2011 after it had sat in a French barn for 5 years. The car started on second key which shocked the old owner. After stripping it down to nothing and sand blasting the chassis which had very little rust. The body had all the rot removed, panels replaced - lower pedal, floor and boot. The body was resprayed in idividual parts to original colour with ''D*lly'' type stripes etc. The original 602 engine was refitted after inspecting it (to get it up and running). The suspension was lowered with 170% springs and the caster angle corrected. After holiday at the International meeting in Salbris engine was replaced with Visa/ LNA 652cc with original gearbox modified for sensors. After the sensors and black box failing twice change iginition to 123 EVO. Later changed the carbs to 2 AMAL 28mm motorcycle carbs and rejetted many times to get correct mixture over the rev range. The car is not much faster but had to do something different.

I really like this. Looks like you had a good solid base to start with? AMAL carbs are in interesting choice. British bike fan as well?

I've seen weber & SU carbs used before, but not AMAL.

That looks very tidy!

I see you got your avatar sorted out; My Cote d'Azur & Jono's minty clean blue 'un, snapped back in 2006 at the bubble car museum... A fine choice! ;)

Yesterday had a trip to the car museum in Loheac - South Brittany and on way back realised that cars were either going passed me very quickly or staying way back. Stopped and inside of engine bay way soaked with oil. It was coming out of the dip stick and any other seal it could find. That is it with this Visa engine - apart from the original electrical problems this is the final straw. Took out the engine today and stripped the original (faithfull) engine ready for new barrels/ pistons and seals. Long live the 602cc engines.....
