But if you push your car a mile to the petrol station, you won't have that mile to walk back to it. Bonus.

But walking 2 miles is probably easier than walking one whilst pushing a car! Or jog and it'll be even quicker ;)

While we're playing one-upmanship. I once abandoned my skoda at the side of the road with head gasket failure, it was still running but doing a fair impersonation of a steam train, and I didn't want to kill it completely. A week or so later I hadn't worked out how to recover it, so having nothing else to do, and wanting to get out of the house, I walked to where it was parked with the idea that I could drive it home, if I stopped to let it cool down every mile or so.
It was 9.5 miles away, when I got there it wouldn't start so I walked home again.

When the head gasket went the last time on my old Super Estelle, I just replaced it where it stopped. 20 minutes and it was done!

Mind you, that was the third head gasket to that tank of fuel so I'd had a lot of practice.

The MZ decided we'd gone quite far enough tonight, about 10 miles short of home, and while I was faffing about by the side of the road, a bloke pulled up in a car behind me, who turned out to be heavily into Lambrettas. He'd just been to help a mate get one sorted, and so happened to have a box full of brand new spark plugs in the car! New plug and I was back on my way. I don't think I've *ever* put a brand new spark plug in a two-stroke before - such extravagance! ;)

I went for a piddle behind the hay barn at work today, which is where we usually go. Just as I was mid flow, I heard somebody in the distance behind me shout 'look up!' and as I turned round there where half a dozen blokes with shotguns on the local shoot in the field who started shooting. Quite a lot of shot landed just where I was relieving myself and went pinging off the corrugated sides of the barn, causing me to pop my willy away and run for cover.

Getting my knob out in public has usually resulted in a fairly negative response but today is the first time somebody has actually opened fire on me for it.
