Post Stolen on New Year's Eve: YAP 693Y, Yellow & Black Charlie
Just passing this on - please keep 'em peeled and contact The RADARS (contact info on 2CVGB website if needed) if you see any traces of it.:

"Kevin Birch who is a member of RADARS had his beloved Yellow & Black Charleston stolen in the early hours of 31 December 2011. The car's registration number is YAP 693Y and has a large bumble Bee drawing on the boot lid. The car has had substantial restoration this year at great expense to Kev.

Kev is heartbroken that his lovely car has been stolen - he's owned Yappy for 25 years and has therefore lost a good friend.

If anyone can help in anyway or just keep an eye out for this car or any suspect Yellow & Black Charleston parts on Ebay for example please let me know via the contact details for RADARS in the club mag.

Thanks
Charlie Marshall"

For what reason are they being stolen for export to Egypt? Sounds unlikely to me. Japan, the states or even France I could understand, generic car theft and export to Africa is rife, but stealing 2cvs specifically for export there? I can't see why.

Fingers crossed it'll turn up safe and sound.

I reckon they're being exported to Bradford. If anything it'll be broken up for parts by pikeys and sold on ebay.

Plod probably seen the reports that landrovers, merc and the like being nicked for export to Egypt

car been stolen ...then its off to Egypt

Aus an intresting one - as the scene over there is so small shouldn't be too difficult to get a look out on Ausie Frogs
