Who uses their A series right through the salty winter?
..and if you do what precautions do you take against the ravages of damp and salt , do you just get on with it and wash it in the summer , wash it every week , cover it in waxoyl and hope for the best , or are a bit handy with a welder /aren't short of a few bob to pay a welder so don't worry about it ? I fall into the third category, i don't completely mothball it but i have a cheap diesel BX so that takes the worst of winter work mileage and doesn't seem to go rusty in a hurry ,but i do quite like the idea of one day returning to full time A series through the winter.

I use D*lly every other day to keep the Alfa running ok....
I actually use my 2CV more during the winter and especially during the snow!

Re: Who uses their A series right through the salty UK winte
I use my 1978 2cv daily in winter. It's brush painted and a bit ratty, so it doesn't worry me too much. I've used it every winter since I bought it 13 years ago, and I hope to continue to do so for a long time. It keeps going, but the lower sections of its body need keeping on top of.
However, my red 2cv's tucked up for winter. Ideally I would still use it from time to time, on nice days, but I can't afford to keep all 3 cars taxed - my Acadiane is also in its garage right now, but remains taxed over winter and comes out from time to time when I need to cart things about.

I didn't use mine in the summer, let alone the winter. I did last year though, its just a car.

Staff car park at Ecas has 3 2CV daily drivers right now, not a BMW in sight here!

Do about 20 - 30 miles a day in mine whatever the weather. Although we've got a garage, its a 10 minute walk away so it hasn't been in it since about March. Lives outside. It shows in places, but if I keep on top of it I reckon it shouldn't need too much work for a couple of years. But oh well... You can replace metal. Like Russ said, its only a car.
