 Re: My 2cv
Refitted the dump tubes yesterday morning and it's improved things greatly, not had the car stall on a junction since fitting them

 Re: My 2cv
If it starts happening again, it might be worth checking the carb is bolted down properly and is making a good seal with the manifold. An air leak there will give exactly the systems you describe - stalling at junctions, and tricky to restart (engine has to be kept over a certain rev limit to keep going!)

Oh, I can assure you the carb's bolted down properly. Now! It wasn't on Jonathans engine.... Oh, and Jonathan, if you feel the performance of the Slag engine isn't great, that'd probably be because I accidentally set the timing a little bit retarded....... Or, to put it another way, not as (very, very) advanced as it was on your engine...

I also replaced the kingpins when it was in my car (probably needlessly now I've read that!), so it should go like a rocket now!

 Re: My 2cv
Okay, I've not used this much recently, apart from one or two journeys to work, so today I'm off down to Salisbury and Old Sarum for the day

 Re: My 2cv
Spanners is kindly sorting out the fitment of two new tyres bought from Roy's D*lly Emporium yesterday and I'll be popping over to Spanners Towers on Friday to have them refitted and have a good going over of the mechanicals before I head down to Dover on Monday morning. Just got my 40th to deal with on Saturday first

 Re: My 2cv
Sunny? Yorkshire? Does not compute at present... Hope it improves for the w/e, yesterday's torrential rain turned the street outside into a river for a while. Pack wellies and brollies, that should help keep it at bay. ken Simon Crook wrote: Make sure you are finish with him by two/two thirty as I will be taking him to Sunny Yorkshire
