The plate says AKB 1969 - yet the van is 'correct' for 1966? Read the thread from about 10 pages back knightley wrote: And 'Paint code' in english. Methinks that was added by a previous tinkerer.

The paint code plate isn't there to tell people what the paint code is.

Really great to see the van there and meet it at last (and you too ) This was the finished "sign writing" this morning....I was going to advise you to not give up your day job, but didnt realise George was to blame..... Attachment:

Sam....two things got me thinking on the way home.... 1) Is that an original vent flap, because I did count the spot welds on my car when I got home and in fact is has 24 around the edge, I checked yours when you were alseep and you also have the same number....I believe your van should have a vent flap with only 18 2) The "rusty patches" on the doors - it looks like you just spayed some cheap old varnish over them. But I like the effect, I assume you stipped those bits down properly and treated them with some special "rust maker", please explain how you did this as people might be interested! 'box PS - Sorry for standing around drinking beer and laughing as you went forward and backwards, side to side and even possibly up and down whilst getting the position of the van right for your tent......I can't do it with the awning on my van either!!

(wondering why you had cans etc of that bloke) He was packing the 4 Charlie Maharry rims into his car and I said, what do you want for them. He said, £20 So I gave him £15 and he threw the suspension cans in for free. I think that's a good deal really.
