I thought Adrian said bigger ones, can't remember. It's weird that the gearbox that's in their now - the bulkhead's been smacked to allow enough clearance for the gear change, which has also been cut and welded for some reason.

Sounds like an ami box then, that'd have a different linkage to a 2cv.

Ami engine, Ami box, makes sense I guess. That could also explain why I barely get into 4th gear, its a big leap.

It was the same in my old 6, its nice though when you're on the autoroute cruising at 130kmh.

That might be optimistic for the van

Highest reading for Hugo was 110kph, which is around 68mph - that was somewhere in northern France, sometime in 2003 - me, the girlfriend, and a load of camping gear - I wouldn't exactly call it 'cruising' though...

Cruised happily at 60mph today :) much smoother at 60 than 50 for some reason. Took a while to get there but we did it in the end!

There's been a dreadful rattling from the back for a while. Turned out the van flat bed wasn't actually attached to the van body at the forward end

So got my Dad's rivet gun out. The rivets are ex-RAF so they should be up to the job.

I put plenty of underseal under it to keep water from settling.

I was pretty pleased with the result and it certainly doesn't rattle anymore :)

Mummy Fildhouse kindly spent the day stitching up the covers for the mattresses :)

I think I've finally sorted the oil leak. I made a gasket for the oil filler and it seems to have stopped leaking. Finally.

All round, a successful day
