1 nice use of pop riveted ally plate as structural repair in a prescribed area(handbrake mounting) 2 nice set of ikea cupboards......avoid roundabouts and corners till you devise a "locking" system. edit there is! phiew, imagined the carnage as you turned out of Russ's yard serious tho...coming on!

Re: Belgian built 1969 AK350 'Hetty'
Won't the speedo reading be determined by the diff ratio and speedo drive etc? My 80's car's got a 60s speedo and it's miles out, won't this be the same?

See the little hooks & eyes? see the edit above Theyre pretty safe - just need to make sure the cupboards themselves stay put! The ally plate is imaginative - just hope it's enough to get her through! I think the speedo will probably be pretty useless, but you never know.

Mark350 wrote: re: tank coverI have a similar problem with the spare wheel cover on Hugo, as in there's a gap at the top due to the non-2CV bodyshop incorrectly placing the top hinge when it went in for accident repairs Hopefully, I can have it sorted later this year You've put me to shame with the work that you've done though - I've had Hugo ten years this year and he looks nothing like Hetty (actually, some of the rusty bits match!) Nice black theme on the wings/ vent flap As for the rear lights, a second set of orange domes would have looked better - I may attempt to prove this on Hugo soon Keep up the good work In fairness Ive been very lucky. Hetty is pretty solid so there's been nothing major to deal with, keeping costs down too. I also have an excellent place to store and work on her and the time needed to do it - not to mention people like Russ and my dad whove been really helpful. Will Hugo be out and about this year Mark?

Every time somebody gives a 2cv a daft name, a kitten dies.
