Thanks.

A few thing still have to be done:
- Some bugs in the lightning department
- Engine needs a loooot of tlc, I will try to revise it myself
- Then with some luck she will get her new plates!

The shock absorbers on Galva are in need of replacement? With the raid plans in head, would it be wisely to put on van absorbers?

I'd fit new standard Lipmesa shock absorbers. Van ones use a larger stud and wont fit a saloon.

I see. And how about Ami shock absorbers, will they fit? When driving with a heavier than normal 2CV trough rougher than normal terrain some extra absorption sounds like a good plan to me.

Ami are the same as van, although you may be able to use the studs out of the van/ami chassis in your 2cv. I don't really know if there is a benefit to using these dampers on a raid car.

Well the car is heavier of course. But if I have to adapt stuff I'll take the normal 2CV dampers, fiddling with stuff only makes it more susceptible for faults.

So still working to prep Galva for this summer. Still to do:

- Gearbox protection
- Make a relay rail on the battery holdback thingy
- Install extra Hella's behind the bumper and hook them up with the high beam
- Find a way to place the jerrycans in a secure way(any suggestions?)
- Derust and repaint the roofstraps
- Replace the carp
- A lot more

Raid config. Friction dampers, 2cv or Ami shockies makes no difference.
Seen all on raids down under without problems. Main problem when raiding is overloaded and speeding.

Some 2cv van are using 12 mm shockie bolts (same size as 2cv) Dive underneath to measure the bolts. Most likely to be 14 mm on Ami´s.

I can choose between Lipmesas or Monroes for the same price, what would be a better choice?
