Re: Belgian built 1969 AK350 'Hetty'
Many thanks indeed sir, although I must concede that on closer inspection the wings look very brush painted, but a bit of flatting back in a few weeks will help.
We were just discussing how to deal with the rear panels, looks like a lot of rubbing down in my dad's near future!

If they're 2CV rims they should fit. I have however had clearance problems with the wider "other" A series rims, there can be a conflict twixt rim and inertia damper.

You thinking of 4.5" G rims? Thinking about it they may well have been. I took them off a French 2CV disk brake car and tried to fit them to a drum brake AK 400; and then wondered why I had an immovable van

I'll give them a trial fit tonight to make sure the seams are clear and paint them up over the next few evenings. Just bought that sound proofing - looks good.

Re: Belgian built 1969 AK350 'Hetty'
So, trial fitted the spare rims on Hetty this evening. The wheel nuts were pretty damn tight but a bit of jumping on a wheel brace and some WD40 had them off. I got 9 rims with Hetty. 5 on the car, 4 to go on with 145s fitted. Of those with 145s fitted, I'd say 2 of them are okish. 2 are shot at the seems. These are later welded type wheels. The spare on the van is gone at the seems. The 4 on the van are early riveted type and all have surface rust, particularly on the outer rim. I can never decide what I do about wheels. I'm sorely tempted to fork out and buy new ones as I know they'll be solid. The alternative is to use the 2 okish ones and see what I can salvage from my garage - I think I may have the better of the old rims from my car. But then I have to faff around sanding, priming and trying to make a half decent paint job in the knowledge that they will, eventual, still need to be replaced. What to do...
