Ohh...you missed that one. It's a game apparently, and yesterday our foreign players scored more goals than your foreign players, which made us feel all patriotically northern. I did tell you the world's absurd.[/quote]

Well, quite. Anyway, a quick check shows that my particular locally-based foreign players stuffed my father's particular locally-Yorkshire-based foreign players on Friday. Hey-ho.

Perhaps a football team's success is nothing to do with their latitude, and a twat's a twat whatever their latitude, too?

(As for the "conceived by man" - yeh, yeh. First hint of a sheep, and you lot come over all unnecessary)

Don't forget - Accrington Stanley is northern.

Perhaps you're right. It probably just appears that way with how the big southern teams keep losing to the big northern ones. I don't know, I don't like football.

Ahh.... that explains Essex. :P

I have it on very good authority that a certain forum member lives there. Although I couldn't possibly mention who. I wouldn't want to have the lad blushing, and James has done absolutely nothing to deserve it.

Ah. Is Accrington Stanley the grandfather of Accrington James, then?

No James is a son of Accrington, not sure if Stanley was still around by then but he did have a bike.

Well I see it this way. £200,000 a week... a F-kin WEEK, for playing a game. Because which ever way you dress it up that's what it is. Then you have some people like Elton John or any number of others amassing fabulous wealth for singing. Same for snooker, darts or whatever.

I sort of thought you did those kind of things for enjoyment. Childrens games like netball or rounders are supposed to be fun, not hold global significance. Don't believe me? Ok try this.

Go to Japan and ask them would they like:

A/ More Doctors and surgeons.

B/ Builders, construction workers, and joiners.

C/ Someone to sing them a quick ditty as they pull out the bodies.

D/ A catalogue containing 'Beckham' brand perfume and Posh spice's latest designs.

You know you're living in a sick society when the latter are more highly paid and praised.

Although I'm no elton John, I am a musician. I've been in my fair share of bands, one of which got paid gigs. Every single penny we got from gigs went straight into the pot, and was put towards recording and equipment. The reason we played was purely because we enjoyed it, the thrill of spending an hour on a stage playing music you love, you just can't beat the feeling.
