Halfords (well my local one for sure) must be a shoplifter's dream come true. Sometimes I have to wait at the till for five minutes or more before anyone comes wandering by, and even then they finish their conversation before opening the till. To anyone so inclined the open door is just feet away.

But do they actually stock anything of use...neon windscreen jets, stick on faux carbon fibre ashtrays or fluffy pink steering wheel covers? wouldn't waste my time.

Yep, it certainly has. Took me most of the day to not find it in the garage at the house, but two Saab bootloads of crap went to the tip, so it wasn't wasted time. I've also found a stack of other Hettystuff, including a brand-new-in-box Belgian front indicator!

The panel was in the lockup that I thought it was in when the van was collected...

Isn't that always the way! Thanks Adrian, I'm much obliged!

I'll pick it all up when we drop the trailer back - probably the cheapest way of doing it....

... unless of course we write off another £500 car in the process, in which case Royal Mail may be preferable.

No worries.

I'd love to see the faces of the PO staff when you take the trailer in, with a 1st class stamp stuck to it.

Keep up the good work Sam. It's the level of enthusiasm I find inspiring. Took J for a run to Ikea yesterday. 2m long box fits fine with the roof off. Loads of smiles.
