Trying to find a good insurer - bit fed up of FJ (hopeless customer service).

Peter Best are gonna get back to me, issue I have is that as I'm under 25 I can't have a multi car policy.

Also tried Lancaster - again, under 25...

So Apart from FJ, Peter Best and Lancaster, who have you got good experiences of proving agreed value insurance?

Don't know about agreed value - not a thing I've ever bothered with - but Peter James Insurance did the Ami for me at very reasonable rates indeed. I thought it'd be tricky, wanting to use a classic as an everyday car, but he never batted an eye. And he answered the phone without putting me on hold.

tricky one... I rang around quite a few classic insurers when why my renewal came through the post. The majority of them answered the phone quickly without me having to spend hours on hold, but they all, having asked for my best quote so far, said, "Was that with Footman James? We can't beat that."

Peter James didn't quite say that, unsurprisingly, but he still quoted me about £100 more!

At least FJ seem to have started answering the phone recently...

The customer service that you should be concerned about is how you are treated in the event of a claim. The rest just being an irritation.

When I lived in UK FJ had a very good reputation when it came to claims. Dealing with them promptly and fairly. If this has changed then its a shame.

They're ok, its their underwriters Equity Red star that were AWFUL, but its puts me off being with FJ. They werent at all supportive of my claim. Sadly FJ are just a broker, in a claim situation, you deal with the underwriter

No multicar policy for under 25s. So you pay the same premium for each car. The actual premium was quite good.
£375.45 with an agreed value of £5000, unlimited milage. But that doubles for 2 cars.

Footman James
For some reason came in at £900 for both.. I'll speak to them again when I renew.

Sounded hopeful. They can't insure the D*lly because its an everyday car. if I had an additional vehicle D*lly would be £640 and Mehari £528.

D*lly, limited milage at 5000 miles, £382.76 excess of £250

D*lly, fully comp, agreed value £315 but limited to £5000 miles OR £395 for 10,000 miles
Mehari £375 cos its an import limited to 5000 miles

Bishop Calway
Mehari £169.60 limited to 3000 miles on agreed value at £3000. You must have 3 years no claims and have a second 'everyday' car (that would be D*lly then!)
