i dont think theres any other car that you can run daily and repair regularly when it goes wrong and sell it for more than you paid (plus what youve spent keepingi t in once piece, if anything the 2cv is best for that for its simpleness (less to go wrong obviously) and the ability to get hold of parts so easily at a cheap price (roy dont raise prices now ive said that please, thanks )

i would never buy a car thats been near a specalist, id rather have the fun of doing it myself,

from my young small prospective, the car market is one full of profits and monies, for all the wrong reasons,

Of course cars will become more valuable as they become more rare - it's always happened and, I guess, always will.

Of course the 'best' of each type (ie: in the best original condition) will demand the highest premium - it always has and, I guess, always will.

Today's Citroen C1 costs - what? - from £6k? After 10 years they will fetch only a few hundred £ (just like 2CVs used to.) 20 years further on, however, a mint original-condition C1 will most likely cost way over £6k again.


Anyways, why on earth has someone imported a LH drive car from Japan to the UK...

Probably 'cos he doesn't know what the actual colour name is - and assumes that ze crasy engleesh don't know what 'vert' means...?

Anyways, looks like the colour either you or another helpful fellow identified for me as being Vert Embun. Yes, it's wonderful

I just don't know I didn't look at the year. I've just looked at the car which is supposedly Vert Embun, and it's very similar, tho' possibly not identical.

When I compare my supposedly Vert Ebrun pic - which is an almost identical 4-lighter to the one you've shown below but with paperclips (which, I think came from the cool pics thread), it looks near-identical to the Vert Jade one above ^. Whereas the Ebrun below looks distinctly darker. All beautiful colours...

Reminds me of going to Bristol Street Motors for a can of Vert Jade paint to sort out the first bit of damage on the Dyane we'd bought new from them.

Thought it might make life easier for the parts dept if I asked for Jade Green, but the response was something like "Nah, we ain't got that, mate. There's only this Vert Jade stuff, but that's not it"...

Apparently if Guiseppe Verdi had been English his name would have been "Joe Green". Doesn't have the same ring to it, does it?

A mixture of regret and relief as i got outbid on that scruffy blue dyane on ebay. Still, i was looking forward to having an a series to thrash around without feeling guilty.
