Cheapness can't be the reason!? The cheapest of cheap welders, the Aldi gasless, I've been using cant be 'live' because it won't arc on anything unless i'm pulling the trigger?

Here's a specific rule, to reinforce Russ's advice.

If you decide to buy a welder from a shop, don't choose one that has this place as its equivalent in the field of literature...

Spot on

Learnt that with tools. Spent a few Bob in cheap tools which
1. Break easily
2. Are shit
3. Ergonomically not well designed

I (mostly) (wondering off topic for two secs) buy tent tools (unless I'm not going to use it much) like today, spent £60 in my local tool shop (£60 after my nice 35% discount ;), as they're doing a Christmas special, I was gazumped as to why it wasn't much cheaper than exspected, my mate behid the counter said, 'thats cos we usually give you 30% off' I held my head in shame!) an why teng? Garrunteed for life, what ever you do to it. Buy it once and never buy it again, plus there tools are tip top. Can't fault them in any way what do ever

Back to welders my uncle has my welder
Waiting for him to get back to me Grr!
