Morgans were rear wheel drive, at least the three wheelers were, not sure about the 4-4 that was around in the 30's.

I'm afraid the Top Gear crew, with the possible exception of James May, make me cringe.
So without waiting for my antediluvian download speed to produce the clip, I presume they're bringing the "System Panhard" to the attention of their adoring public?

Morgans are/were all of 'em rear wheel drive, so far as I know...

Oh yeah. Sorry. You're right and I knew that.

Quick lesson on Front wheel drive, it does this:

And Rear wheel drive, it does this:

And that's way cooler.

I think there's probably two exceptions to the 'RWD is best' rule, original Mini, and Early FWD Citroens. I can't think of anything else that works.

In my early days so far with the D*lly, I have the feeling it will produce terminal understeer in extremis as did a Mini 850 of long-ago experience, when I had the belief that the car will follow the front (driving) wheels as long as one plants one's throttle foot hard to the floor. WRONG! BANG, CRUNCH, OUCH, $$$!

On dry tarmac, and, to be honest, also wet, a 2cv will just grip, and if it doesn't a quick lift off will see the back step out nicely. Mini's aren't as perfect as 2cvs ut still vastly nicer to drive on a track or round corners than modern 'made for comfort' crap. That's why 2cvs are so perfect, comfort and endless grip*

*Unless you're a tight bugger and you think Toyo/Mabor are acceptable in place of Michelin.

Goodbye pork Pie, probably in my top three favourite ever films.
