Post 1979 Jaune Mimosa 2CV
I don't think I've done a thread on this.

I bought this back on 2006, it's had a full restoration although that was back in 2001 so it's showing it's age a little. The reason I've started the thread is that it's been sitting under covers in my garage for two years when it lost compression, and I've had a succession of other cars since then and kind of forgotten about it. I gave it to my Dad so he could sell his van and have a more practical car but his van hasn't sold, and now my red 2cv has to come off the road for lots of work, the solution was to get this out, MOT it and start using it again.

Until that happens (probably in the next few weeks, around Christmas) here are some photo's of it when it was last on the road.

Can't wait to get back behind the wheel of it!

Hmmmm, that's lowered just the right amount 8-)

Suits the chrome covers too - where are the rest of them?!

Any idea what caused the loss of compression? Still to be looked at?

It's got new rings which seemed to solve that. The chrome wheel covers are in the garage but I went off them (because a million people told me they looked shit, I got fed up of hearing it).

It's now low any more either, sadly. I never fitted it with turned arms or did any work with the springs, it was just wound down the cheap way. It'll stay high now I think.

No, just whatever the MOT says it needs, and I'll drive it!

I might put bumpers back on it, actually.

Rear bumper would be an improvement! Splitter on the front suits the car well, I should keep that one on if I where you

Kept that one quiet! Nice colour, I like them in yellow, if you don't put bumpers back on you gotta loose that tow bar... Then give it to me! Haha! Nah seriously looks good!

Sadly that splitter has been smashed on things too many times I had to throw it away, the car has no bumpers on it now.

I didn't really keep it quiet, I used it loads from '06 to '08, It just got eclipsed by the ami, then the bamboo, and then the succession of mercs and the golf and the red 2cv and all the other shit I've bought and sold since then...
