Well I've restored some sort of mood balance, although I'm now walking round with the kind of blank expression that botox gives you, but hey-ho.

Pleased to hear it, Old Nail.

I suspect that 'blank expression' is still more endearing than that sported by 103% of the general population.

Well, it's more in keeping with the look a checkout operator gives you these days when they say a thing is £5.40p and you give them a ten pound note and 40p. A look of blank bewilderment might sum it up.

Ah there! I'm feeling better already.

I just want to check this idea out with the mods.

My car is running fine, so there's little to write about car wise on the Blubamboo blog, but people did seem to enjoy following the other stuff I put in there.

What I want to ask before I just go ahead and do, (and therefore possibly tire some folks) is would it be acceptable to post up a little about what I used to do for a living? And maybe shatter a few misconceptions about that line of work in the process?

I realise that this is a 2cv forum, and my blog here is primarily for posts relating to my 2cv, so if there's any objections to my posting other stuff I'll understand completely.

What say you mod men?

***cough*** Er, since the A-series owners on here sometimes have lives, thoughts and opinions wot extend a little beyond just the love of their cars - as shown by the well-populated 'O/T Thread' thread - perhaps it's ***cough*** time for 'O/T Thread' to have a forum of its own?

And one such O/T Forum thread could be *** cough*** O-N's ramblings?

Pretty pleeeeeez?

i think it was suggested in the suggestions section, however i think the concern (expressed by russ iirc) was that its a 2cv forum, and they dont want it too go off on one talking about lawn mowers and the tint of green your grass is, im all for it so dont shoot me down im just attempting to re interperut what was said

You are right, James.

The irony is, however, that there already exists an 'O/T' thread and it currently has one thousand two hundred and seventy seven posts. Clearly, 2CV owners do have 'other' things to say. The only significant difference in giving 'The O/T Thread' its own 'forum' on the main menu listing would be to allow different topics to follow their own lines without them being interjected by other topics coming in at a tangent.

If I come back from my hols and wish to tune in to O-N's current state of mind ( ;) ), I could do so fairly quickly and not have to trawl through Wayne Rooney's. (Well, I know what I mean... :( )

Call me suspicious, but I suspect that any topic covering shades of lawn grass would soon peter out. Although...

I see what your saying, but for me the O/T thread is ideal. Partly I think it works so well because other topics do crop up in the middle of an on going discussion. I think this can stop things being dragged out; heck, I could have gone on about spelling for days! The fact the subject has changed certainly makes me think: "well we've moved on now, the moment for that comment has passed". If there was something I really couldn't let go... (stubborn? Moi? )... I'd simply quote the post I was referring to in order to refresh that particular topic.

I like the forum being subject specific and that the index page is all about the subject matter.

More boards equals too much clutter in my eyes.
