I know that seems a lot, and I haven't a clue what they go for. I doubt with prices like that they are beyond us mere mortals.

edit: same with vintage guitars, amps etc etc a working musician cannot afford a 50s Gibson, a real shame.

I had a 1962 Gibson SG for a while, which I found in a Wolverhampton music shop in the mid 1990s for £120. :D Got nicked in the end, which was a shame. Now I use 1960s Teiscos, Zentas and other Woolworths guitars, which have something that no Strat (yawn) or Les Paul (doule yawn) has ... individuality. They're a bit crap, but they sound great, cost less than £100 and no one else plays them, save a few enlightened souls.

They do sound great, I've put teisco and supro pickups in a tele ala ry cooder's strat - the combo of a teisco gold foil neck and the tele bridge is pretty heavenly.

If I had to buy a teisco, it'd have to be this <droooools>

This is dangerous territory, do this forum need a guitar thread....? :?

Nice ... I've just sold my 1979 Strat and the idea was to replace it with something like that. Sadly the money I made is already spent many times over. :(

Would be interesting to know what you got for a '79, I'm struggling to sell a '75 Sunburst one, the market is not what it once was, as with everything, if any wants one or knows of someone who does drop me a pm ;)

£575. It had been refinished twice, the second time in blue acrylic paint by someone using a yard brush, by the looks of it. :o

I wonder who that was...

He can't mean me, I'm not tight. I'd rather spend 10% more on parts with ECAS than put money in his pocket.

i can sort of get what they mean, the tight bastards bit isnt fair, but alot of people, whove been in 2cv'ing as long as they have been alive, kknow a "quick" and cheap fix to a problem, rather than the likes of me, new to the business, learning, like you where saying yesterday russ about the oil breather unit, and the rubber...
