Post Re: RUST EATER
Sorry, went rather off topic...

I don't have much experience of them, but for what it's worth I have used some green jelly hammerite stuff, which I don't rate very highly. Took ages to do anything, and didn't remove all the rust anyway. (Of course, I might not have prepared it properly or something)

Also I have used the very stuff Neil originally mentioned, which actually worked perfectly. I have only used it the once, because in most places the body is so thin, the rust needs cutting out and new metal welding in. But if it is just chips that need attention, or light surface rust I would have thought it would be just the job.

That's my tup'ence worth anyway :)

ive got 2 drill attachments, one huge one ansd a smaller one, but i still think the dremel is the perfect tool (personally speaking) it gets into little gaps that the drill cant, such as inside the boot floor at the bottom of the rear sweep, was a small bubble on inside, now, sorted

i geuss its one of those things, tis like women with what fragerence they where, but with us men its tools  personally i think that the dremel does the job, designed for it or not

Fair enough mate. If it works for you ... :)

When you say dremel, you're talking about one of those mickey-mouse things with the tiny spinning tools on the end? How long does it take to (for example) strip the paint off of a door? I'd have though it'd take bloody ages? I don't see what's wrong with a 4.5" grinder?

I think James is talking about dealing with tiny rust bubbles. At least, I hope he is ...
