Mum's having more trouble with her's, the gear change is giving her problems and the ignition lock is starting to give up on her!

Mum's having more trouble with her's, the gear change is giving her problems and the ignition lock is starting to give up on her! I live just up the road I turned up when you followed me up London Road in your CX the other week. You Mum's gear linkage wasn't good when I had a look at it last year (Pete's mum works just around the corner from where I live in Sheffield, so I see her red Special sometimes). I seem to recall that the thread was iffy on the bolt that holds the vertical part of the lever onto the little shaft that comes out of the box, therefore it'd keep coming loose and causing problems. Also, the rubber bush on the joint between the vertical and horizontal part of the linkage was knackered - but they're cheap and easy to replace.
