Hi Louise.

I think using an iPod/MP3 player in a 2CV is a cracking idea - you take it with you every time you leave the car

So what happens on a long journey say into Europe when it needs charging. You now need an inverter!!

You could run it off the 12v supply:

or buy an in-car charger?

Pah! You mean you don't have a car charger for your MP3... :o ?

To be honest, I wouldn't recommend this type of music setup for a 'normal' car - a standard stereo system is FAR more user-friendly and is easily the best way to go. However, for such a vulnerable soft-top as the Deux Chevaux, I think it makes total sense. It's all pretty much out of sight. And it's easy to install and it doesn't detract from the 2CV interior...

I know I'm fortunate to live in a fairly rural location where there isn't much crime, and I take full advantage of that by never closing my roof unless it's going to rain, and my doors are also left unlocked and windows open. I'm pretty sure that - for the odd toe-rag who must surely frequent the area - once glance inside my car will make him wince and scurry onwards...

Norm, I took mine to France for the week and charged it with the lead that Neil posted a link to. You can also buy a radio reciever that plugs into the iPod, which i did, although I must admit the term 'reciever' was a bit strong.
