Well i've had a good day

found out that im doing more miles to the gallon than i thought

over 200 miles on about 4 gallons! which i dont thinks too bad... considering she's been sitting on the dual carriageways at 75 most of the time, and the odd trashing round the country roads

but anyways, dropped my tank out today, cleaned up all the connections! filled her up till the old sup unleaded was honestly - at the top of the filler about half a cm from the cap!

no leaks after was also good! and my fuel gauge finally works

so i dont have to play the old guessing game anymore

and also when it reads empty ive actually got 2 gallons left which is also a bonus

anyways, saw a fellow A series owner this morning

local guy, used to run a 2cv specialist company called "just 2cv" i think, says his son runs it now, they own a bright green (not original colour) 1971 Dyane6, he said he had rebuilt it chassis up before and most of the panels and bumpers are replaced with fibreglass ones, but recently some @r$eholes have recently vandalised her, snapped off part of the back bumper and scratched and damaged the back wing

but the guy said he's going to rebuild her again soon!

she looks good but the back end isnt so nice

*edit* - Btw the reg of the dyane is YOW 467J - aparently so dvla says its been requested for SORN

i dunno where its gna go cos the owners live on a narrowboat.....
also this is the first time ive seen one of these, but outside this little old classic garage theres a 2cv running gear 3 wheeler, its not a lomax or burton, its got "pembleton" on the bonnetish thing, 2cv running gear but with big spindley wheels and very old fasioned, would rather have a 2cv lol

and yes they are asking £5k for it......... and the old man in the garage couldnt give me any info on the thing other than that it was "the pembleton and that it was a local car" i think.....
ooooh and look what i drove past on the dual carriageway today

yeah a van caught fire on the oposite side of the A45 close to j16 of the m1, anyways, as i was driving down the dualy i could see smoke, we all started slowing down, then we could see this buring wreck of a van, which then as we all stopped exloded!!!!!!! and then we had to drive past it! the roads hadnt been closed yet cos the police n fire engines werent there yet lol..... anyways when i got in we put the radio on, turns out the van was full of gas tanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i drove past this burning thing with my roof back... after it had exploded.... i think im quite lucky tbh
