Indeed, she passed but is as flat as a witches tit-running stupidly weak.

Time for a rejet I think?

Maybe I should see if there's any unwanted Solexs within the racing fraternity? Although I reckon people will be holding onto them for a little while longer yet! ;)

To celebrate "Myrtles" fresh new MOT, I decided to some of the jobs I meant to do prior to the MOT.

However, when I got down to the garage, I realised I'd left that particular bit of enthusiasm in the house and decided to do something not remotely important instead!

Having read elsewhere on this fine forum of other people playing with dashboards and speedos and stuff, I decided it was about time I made a home for the rev counter.

So, without further ado, more (crap) pictures.......

Take one sheet of aluminium

Draw pretty pictures on and hack away with angle grinder/jigsaw/drill/file/tin shears etc

And then paint

Halfway through making this, I realised I hadn't got a fuel gauge. D'oh! However, a quick look and a last minute bid saw me as the "winner" of a 52mm fuel gauge for the princely sum of 49p! :D 8-)

It probably won't fit in the car when it's done but, hey ho-we'll see.

That's lovely, are GS speedos accurate when plugged into a 2CV box, and what about fuel gauges, aren't they designed to work with sender units of different resistance or can the aftermarket 52mm jobs be adjusted?

That dashboard will look great when its in the car, Mr Spanners, good stuff :D

In your MOT photos the front doors still look a bit bare, are you going to get some racing numbers on there to complete the racer look ?

As far as I can remember, GS speedos are accurate enough! I'll have to compare it to satnav at some point.

As for the fuel gauge, I'll have to find out as I go along-it doesn't work at all at the moment so will probably just be "for show" until I get my arse into gear and sort the sender out!

I'm hoping to be able to sweet talk those nice people within the racing club to sorting me out with stickers at Mallory, it HAS to be good publicity for the club I'd have thought? ;)
