It's quite simple. It's worth what somebody'll pay for it.

If somebody'll PAY £11k, then it's WORTH £11k. Simples.

"probably the last pair of genuine new old stock AK350 rear wings in captivity"

Wonder what's hiding in my lockup, then... Still with the Citroen part number sticker on...

Not quite. Someone may indeed be daft enough to pay eleven grand for a 2cv, but that doesn't automatically make the car worthit. It just makes the bloke a dick. Cost and value are two different things, as many found out in the 80's classic car speculation bubble.

I'm not averse to "making money" on cars I have but generally speaking, I don't actually think I do make anything cos I end up spending a fortune on putting them right!

I feel I made a profit on Slamboo in so much as, Seth is a much nicer car (sorry Russ) so it felt like a metaphorical profit anyway! :?

You see I'd worked myself up so much that Seth had loads of problems (that I probably didn't know about)...so... (whether he has or not) I couldn't sell for loads of money because that would be underhand espesh if the buyer had to spend loads to make him straight.

I have no problems with people making a profit, its all part of buying and selling cars, some people are shrewd, some people aren't; some people get lucky, some don't.

I wouldn't be bothered really if you sold him tomorrow for 11k! At most I'd be a little bit miffed and kicking myself! I sold it for 450 and thats where my involvement ends!

Making money is some people's objective, for most (and I'd include everyone I've come across so far) being fair and honest is also an important part of the deal.

I'd never pay 11k for any car*. Its a good job I've got such bad taste and all the cars I like are in my budget!!

*Unless I won the lottery, of course.
