 Can i just say
Can all the whinging tools who now own 2CV's and have no clue about them other than 'ohh pretty car' please SOD OFF.
This post is almost closely linked to Neils recent facebook post that attracted so many replies.
If you want a classic car that you show and shine and drive 600 miles a years then F - Off and buy an MGB or something.
I know my 2CV's as do most of you folks here, so can the whingers either learn it or shut it.
That is all, thank you.
If mods want to delete this please do. Other than that just to point out that this post is not directed at any of the regular posters here (but plenty of them somewhere else)

I mean the mindset really Adrian.
You do not need to be able to spanner your own 2CV, all you have to do is have more than a passing classic car interest in them and maybe not be totally antagonistic when people who actually like to have a laugh and use their cars dare say that there is more to life than polishing and being quaint.

 Re: Can i just say
Oh and whilst im at it..... values.
Just cos' your car has a galvo chassis and you have painted the wheels and had it serviced 3 yrs ago, it does not make your car a 1500 quid appreciating classic.
Nor does a restored by a specialist 10 yrs ago = 5000 value. They are worth what people will pay you. They are not an investment more a perfect object fit for its purpose and should 'mostly' be used.
Again, sorry to rant, all just my opinion.

 Re: Can i just say
nope, we (the royal we, meaning I) was subjected to stupidity at the hands of a polishing person who feels his car is worth thousands and proceeded to tell me that he has only just got into 2CV's and that isnt the history behind them interesting and then proceeded to tell me stuff that was completely untrue and mis informed, then informing me that he never lays a hand on his car as he has no clue how it works and that people should pay specialists to do any jobs on cars as most people dont understand them.
What is worse a growing number of poeple are like this. Please dont treat 2CV's as a lifestyle fashion accessory people.

People can do with their 2cv as they please, like it or not. We live in a free world, who is to say what is right or wrong.

 Re: Can i just say
Well, my car has been polished at times, but I still use it in most conditions...As you all know, I've recently returned from the Vosges mountains of Alsace, with lots of snow and ice and I'm just about to head out the door and point the 2cv south, to Somerset for the day......Looking forward to the drive I will say, the tech on a 2cv does baffle me, somewhat. When I had a Morris Minor, I was always doing stuff(mostly coz it needed doing all the time, Forth Bridge analogy, you could say).

Very true, but the 2CV world used to be populated by likeable, friendly and knowledgeable people. In the main, it still is, but im worried by this increase in drongo's. As i say only an opinion.
