Does anyone know if its a legal requirement to have the front and rear fogs operated by different switches? I know it's not an ideal situation to have them come on together, as the fronts will invariably be used when it isn't foggy, but it would simplify things not to have to add another switch.

Far, far too many modern cars have a single none-front-both switch, so I'd be surprised.

Yesterday: all wired up ready to be connected to the battery, 8-) ,

Today:

(Ive had a crap day, headache since i woke up still hasnt gone, everything ive done has gone wrong)
In to the garage conected to the battery, plugs have come off at the spot light end then at the battery end, then at the fuse then the switch snaps... you get the idea, its fallen to pieces.
So im gonna do it again at the weekend with better plugs a new switch ect...

Thanks Sean, I binned my dim-dip ages ago, but if you've got an interesting article for something more elaborate then do share.

For anyone not sure what the whole dim-dip thing is this covers it pretty well,
http://www.2cvstuff.com/Files/DIM-DIP.pdf

And here, with blatant disregard for copyright, is the haynes diagram,

39 and 40 are the two relays, 41 is the diode, and 42 is the resistor
