Hmmmm I'm noticing a trend that there is a facination with waxing on this forum.

Sigh....

It's funny to read the discussion about Specials. It seem's like they really are special out in the big world!

The thing is, here in Norway, the "Citroen Norway" decided to only sell/import Specials, D*lly's and Charleston in the 80's. The Club wasn't possible to buy! The Charlston was more expensive, so not many sold of those, so the result of this, is that here, most of the 2CV's you find is Specials and D*lly's. From 1980 to 1985 it's always a Special, and the years 1986 and 1987(last import-year here) there was mostly D*lly's that was sold, and of course Specials.

So here where I live, 2CV-version = Special. Club's are unheard luxury....

The Spacial had small speedo, simple doortrim, external roof-opening, sunvisor driver's side only, no parcel-shelf behind backseat, round headlight (Squares are very rare here, collectors items;)), two spoke plastic steering-wheel and maybe something I cant remember right now....

Today, most Specials here have been modified to take the inside-opening roof. As you really get bored of the outside opening construction after a while. And it has a bad habit of opening, and leaving the car, during driving.

The D*lly was somewhere between the Special and the Club. I guess they thought that must bee more than enough luxury for the Norwegians
It differed from the Special having, like the Club, inside roof opening, rear parcel shelf and seatcover like the Charleston.

Btw, the first thing I do when buying a 2CV, is throw out the sun-visor. Cant see a damned thing with that thing in place!

No, between a club and a 2cv6, that looks the same to my uneducated eyes.

The badge is different!

Apart from that, they're the same car. The 'chrome' strip on the sill changed to black tape, and the seats changed from targa to jersey cloth at about the same time as the name change, but I'm not sure if it was at exactly the same time.

Exactly. They are the same, so if somebody refers to a 2cv6 as a club then really there's no need for people to spit thier dummies. Calling an Ami6 a poxy D*lly however...

I guess it's just like referring to a married woman by her maiden name. Possibly.
