And even the new panels are so crap they rust in front of your eyes
Best thing is to Shot blast as much as you can before painting , and then invest in me waxoil
I got shares in Finnigans!!!!!!!!!

PS how's the Chapman mehari
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!You saved me 100ds of hours of Adrian drinking tea in my gaff!!, and me cursing him

The key is to make your place so deeply unhygenic that he won't stop to drink your tea anyways. Hope fully only another couple of days of tinkering with it and my work will be done.

Miles off the subject, I'll bung the belts for the orange car in the post monday with any luck...

Post Re: Bodge jobs.
When my first MOT was due with Bubbles, a so called specialist welded one of my rear seatbelt mounts. As soon as i was driving home I knew something was wrong as the fuel gauge read empty, I thought they had forgot to reconnect the wire but no they had melted It ! That was not the only thing! Inside there was now a repair on top of a repair (and I later discovered three layers of repair!)...... Wait!... Not only that! now there was a rap around plate on the outside front edge, welding the inner wing to the outer!   ...when I got round to unbolting the rear wing the only way I could get it off was to wiggle it backwards and forwards, without damaging the wing to much until i could get an angle grinder in to cut it off! buggar of a job!

Made me decide I'm doing all my own bodging from now on! ...so on to my first ever welding! :P

while mooching around the 'net & checking out the 'specialists' 'sites to see what's currently out there & available i stumbled across this gem:

nice & shiny, eh? hmmm, that looks like a pre suffix plate, or rather a plate dished out by the DVLA after a car's been imported, or re-registered, being a pre suffix that would've originally been dished out to a 1963 or earlier car?

Anyway, i did a little check on the DVLA 'site using the 'plate on the above & this is the result:

The enquiry is complete

The vehicle details for MSL 979 are:

Date of Liability 01 01 2010
Date of First Registration 01 09 1998
Year of Manufacture 1956
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 602CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Licence Not Due
Vehicle Colour BLACK
Vehicle Type Approval null

1956! that's a bit naughty, dontcha think?!

Jesting are'nt they?? :? Question is...who's fobbing it off as a '56? :x

It's listed as SOLD in any case!!

All very well if it's just a personal plate (like J is btw), but saving a few quid a year by claiming to be tax exempt is tight at best, and illegal at worst. Tidy looking motor though - i'd love one in black.
