 Re: 1-2-spark
There's never a dull moment with Geo on the case. Mind you, the same goes for Jasu...

 Re: 1-2-spark
Thank you Ken. So today I made two brackets and welded them to the inlet manifold. Then I did a quick testdrive an my surprise my butt says there is more power. Going up hill I think there are 2 or 3 more hp now. Hmmm I always thought a spark is a spark... NOT. Here is a little video of the day.. https://youtu.be/-YvukthrKOIThe coils are for a Renault or Dacia, but in general they need to have 2 pins, so 12 volt. And no I did nothing to the 1-2-spark unit other then spliting the wites to run both coils.. I put the dwell down a little..

 Re: 1-2-spark
@Geo,
What resistance are your coils?
Mine have 2 pins and are 0.5 ohm!

 Re: 1-2-spark
The Rimmer Bros have some "special price" for Rover coils..: https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-NEC000110KThere is a normal price, £96 but they have now £60 (included UK VAT) for six pieces, on their brochure what arrived by mail yesterday. Some Mega Clearance on their stock I think...

 Re: 1-2-spark
I now drive a Citroen Visa engine and mounted the 1-2-spark from LPGo. The wiring is simple. The mounting of the sensor which detects a metal pin on the flywheel is a bit more difficult. On top of the gearbox there is a hole in which a M7 bolt can be turned. The distance between the sensor and the pin has to be as small as possible (0,5 mm). Due to all components around the opening in the top of the gearbox, its very difficult to see if the distance to the sensor is small enough. But in the end one will succeed ! The mounting of the sensor for an 2cv engine is similar but there is no M7 hole available for a bolt. In case you encounter a lot of misfires, check if you have sparkplugs with an interference resistor inside. They are recognisable from an "R" in the type indication. The R stands for resistor. These sparkplug will be needed in case "coil on plug" 's are used. These COP's should be connected in series.

 Re: 1-2-spark
I'm about to fit 1-2 spark to my Visa engine, As there is no hole to static time how will I know where to fit a trigger for the sensor?

 Re: 1-2-spark
The easiest way is if you have the original gearbox. When the pickup at the flywheel is above the lower sensor hole in the gearbox case that is 45 dergrees before top dead center. The 1-2-spark sensor must be right above the pickup then.
Otherwise, take a plug out, put the piston in the highest postion (I always put a small wooden stick (chopstick etc.) in the plug hole.
Make a mark at the flywheel
now fold a rectangle piece of paper diagonal then you have a 45 degrees angle then move your fan anticlockwise to match the angle at the piece of paper and you have 45 degrees..
I hope you understand..
