I couldn't get the flamer to turn cold and didn't want to heat the flamer up in case I disturbed the high tensile metallurgy stuff, so ground away enough of the threaded bush and then some hammering of it to expand the flamer and it gave up :) .
I'm too mean to buy a 26mm. spanner just for this job.

I got real and warmed the threaded bush with a Gaz blowlamp until the thread sealant melted, out they came dead easy. :)

Took last week as a holiday, here we go at this back door bodyshell repair.

ImageP1030377 by Robndaisy, on Flickr

Where the lower C post? joins the sill, this outer corner brace has a friend on the inside too. That makes a four piece laminated rust explosion; anyway, I will re-use this.

profile with one layer removed.

ImageP1030384 by Robndaisy, on Flickr

Had to modify the end of the repro sill as usual.

ImageP1030395 by Robndaisy, on Flickr

I'll sort that out when the bodyshell has been inverted.

The door and it's gaps look OK, the top hinge mount on the B pillar has stress cracked, so I'll braze that up later...probably much later ;)

Not pretty but strong enough.

A different curved profile on the repro,

Different width too  ,note the gap between the edge of the floor pan and the sill, there was a lot of factory mastic in there, in fact that's all that was left  .
The one on the other side of the car doesn't look as bad, but we all know what it'll be like :) .

Why the B post rusted through behind the top right passenger door hinge I don't know, but I need to fix it so I can check the gaps before welding in the new C post...

ImageP1030399 by Robndaisy, on Flickr

once that was attended to, I could cut and fit the C post.

ImageP1030402 by Robndaisy, on Flickr

Fitted the tailgate before welding, just to make sure nothing started to move.

If I was restoring the car, I'd fit new inner wings and a new boot floor, but this is a re-build so I'm patching in new pieces, gonna need more Cleco clamps!

Citroen used a lot more body mastic on the Dyane compared to the 2 2cv, and it's helped the rust to really get going  , this is just from around the area I'm working on :x .
My auto darkening welding helmet has gone on strike so no more welding for a bit, thank Flame  .

Damn! Screwfix got this in for me too quickly, no more excuses...

ImageP1030408 by Robndaisy, on Flickr

the little ball of wire is not your friend when plug welding into 6 mm. holes, so snip it off each time. Note: that is the boot drain hole in the picture, which I am not going to block up  .

Just a few more patches and the quilt will be ready to turn over ;) .
