Re: Place for switches or gauges
I have one in the shed somewhere! One of many un-planned projects.

Re: Place for switches or gauges
I bought the throtle body in the far East. In the meantime I fabricated a bar to hold the hall sensor for the crank rotations.

Something that worked for me .... Run the engine on the old carb and ignition, and test all your sensors are working to your satisfaction, before commiting to them.

How does that bar bolt on, as can see from image?

Re: Place for switches or gauges
The plate with the sensor has two slots which slide over the connection rods for the bellhousing. The plate is pressed tight between the bellhousing and the engine casing. I use a Visa engine on a 2cv gearbox. They need a distance ring of 3 mm between the bellhousing and the engine casing. With the plate, (which is 2 mm thick) in place the distance ring has to be 1 mm. I also will put glue between the engine casing and the alu cable guide to prevent vibration of the sensor plate.

Whatever you can do to stop vibration, would be a good idea. I printed my in abs, and am amazed it still works!

A 3D printer would be an excellent help for me too ! But now it will be too late since I have not many stuff to design.

Re: Place for switches or gauges
Injection system : what is good advise about the most suitable point to start the injecting of petrol in an 2CV engine ? Is it simultanious with the opening of the inlet valve or is it better just before the opening ? If I am well informed the opening of the inlet is a few degrees before TDC.

Re: Place for switches or gauges
Hey, how ya doin? In the first instance, all you really want to do, is get some fuel in there. 2 squirts per cycle, simultanous will do it. One squirt will put it somewhere around induction. The other squirt will put it on the back of the inlet valve. Both will end up in the cylinder when its needed.

Re: Place for switches or gauges
Attachment: underside of ignition box bar.jpg Attachment: top of igniton box bar.jpg Attachment: front side of ignition box bar.jpg @Roger V : in order to be able to inject sequentially, I have fabricated a small bar (from an old curtain rail ) holding a magnet. It can turn inside the ignition box and gives one pulse per complete cycle of the engine. Possibly we will also receive an electronic solution from a Speeduino fan.
