As our barn is now almost ready, I can proceed with the restoration of the AZ.
It is now parked under a shelter, so it is dry.
But before I can start we have to repair my son´s UAZ , it has some problems with its gearbox.
We will take the oppertunity to change the clutch.
So it will take a few weeks before I can start working on the AZ:

I am waiting for he UAZ to be back on the road.
My son is waiting for some spare parts , but because of something called corona ?? it seems to be very difficult to get spare parts from Russia to Hungary. He is waiting now for more than 3 months now, the seller said that the package is send off , and he send the track and trace number , but it is still somewhere between Russia and Hungary.
Hopefully it won´t take long now, so I have room in the workshop to proceed with the restoration of the AZ. In the meantime I am enjoying my van . :D

Yes I know
Martijn from citroenazu.nl said he thought it funny, 2CV AZU and UAZ.
But I am really exited to start working on the AZ again. It still is a lot of work, but the end is near .
I have a great workshop now , it took longer to be build than expected, but that is common in Hungary .
The workshop would be build in 4 months, but in the end it turned out to be 10 months .
Heaven knows why it took so long, but Hungarian people are more relaxed than in Holland.
Today can even be next week , tomorrow is even further away .
No worries. They are lovely people, only not the kind we are used to in Holland.

Bad Luck !

The UAZ parts arrived somewhere in september , so we continued the work on the UAZ.
Yesterday it went for MOT and..... it failed :(
There where 3 crossmembers severely corroded .
They where covered in mud, so we could not see what the condition was.
I told my son several times to remove the mud so we could see the body´s bottom.
But no: It would be oke.
We have decided to finish the UAZ first and then he will help me restoring the AZ.
to be continued .

UK MOT also very keen to spot corrosion, not a bad thing really.

I told my son several times to check for any corrosion, but he would not listen.
Any way, the body is removed from the chassis , and it needs almost the whole space .
After we removed the dirt there were several corroded spots , fortunately all salvable with some sheet metal .
