Re: '85 Charleston
A day off today, the first chance I've had to work on the car since returning from Portugal. Daisy has stayed out there to look after for her Father. P1020853 by Robndaisy, on Flickr It seems to have come through the Winter quite well. P1020854 by Robndaisy, on Flickr Most of this is from the track. P1020856 by Robndaisy, on Flickr The car has decided it doesn't want to be a Charleston any longer. P1020858 by Robndaisy, on Flickr P1020857 by Robndaisy, on Flickr It wouldn't start, there was fuel but no spark. The thin wire from the points had a bad bullet connection. An easy fix even for me. Set the points and would have continued with a full service but had no fresh oil so I'll have to see if my local Motor Factor in Llandrindod Wells is still trading. It takes some getting used to this 'New Normal'.

And, perhaps a splash of fresh petrol down the carb.

Re: '85 Charleston
I used to quite like shopping, those mid-aisle moments in our local Aldi,... some of their Workzone stuff has been ok for this home mechanic. Now though, it's like in the Westerns, the cavalry slowly enter the gulch and it's quiet...too quiet: 'have put my gloves on before getting the trolley' etc. I'll try my Factor and shop once a week. Still, there's plenty of G & T available in contrast to the ravages of the 'paper goods patrols'. Made an error of judgement today and brushed past the Dyane. spent a long time looking and thinking. The flamin' thing has got to be fixed this year, while I still got my strength. The last time I filled the tank was 10th of March The gauge works more like an inclinometer so I just go with 180/190 miles covered per fill, chalked up on the wiper motor cover.

Re: '85 Charleston
Same here Rob Still fuel economy has improved. Think I'm getting 3 weeks to the gallon.
