Re: My Beduino
I got the other hinge in place during the week. I don't have a mechanism for locking/propping it open yet though, so no photos yet. Picking up another engine tomorrow. Chap doesn't know 2CVs and has no idea of its condition. Pervious owner took it out to installed an electric motor! I would be interested in see the doner car.

Re: My Beduino
Picked up the engine Thursday and sprayed some oil in the bores and on carb spindles. Got it mostly installed yesterday, and started it without heat exchangers! Today, I fitted exhaust system and lumenition and timed it up. Starts well enough. When picking it up from seller, I didn't think to much of it, but noticed a dent in the alternator pulley cover. With the engine running, I could hear a faint clacking noise! Turned out that what ever had caused the dent, had also hit the alternator so hard it so hard, that it bent the alternator pivot bolt!!! Changed the bolt and its ok and charges ok. Idle is a bit uneven despite adjusting the mixture. Think I'll check the valve clearances as they sound a bit quite. All in all, very pleased with it.

Re: My Beduino
Not done much recently!
Noticed when I start the new engine, that it takes time to fully run on both cylinders!
Any thoughts on why that may be?

Re: My Beduino
Do the connectors in the sparkplug wire have a good grip on the plugs?

Any thoughts on why that may be? The coil will be my bet... Unless it's new. Then it's not my bet.

Re: My Beduino
Its not a standard coil. Harley look-a-like. doesn't mean its not bad news though.

Re: My Beduino
When I get round to string tappets,!
What's the correct method?
Do both on one side on compression stroke, or
Do the same valve on the other head when one valve is fully open?
