When I was a lad, I seem to recall that a few handfuls of gravel or pebbles and a couple of pints of water was the recommended mixture for de-rusting the interior of a motorcycle tank.
'Well shaken', not stirred, of course... ;)

Works better than sand.
Maybe you could join a steelband for the time you are doing the job.

00Ken's idea does sound the better option. :)

Right. After another two year hiatus, I'm getting this project back on track.
Today I painted the bonnet, the left-hand side of the vehicle, and the rear section interior.
This is an unprecedented amount of progress, based on the experiences of the last 6 years or so. Sadly it looks as if rain in the coming days will hamper further developments for now.

I just thought of you and your van last week as I was cleaning mine.
Good to take the project on again . :)

Hi Geert!
Yes I still have the other one. Sitting in a barn waiting for me to replace its fuel pipe.
The slowing of life due to Covid has given me time to get the van project on the go again. Hopefully I'll keep the momentum going into the autumn.
How's life in Magyarország?

Hungary is like my time in the seventies in Hagley.
As the lady at the butcher´s used to ask : ˝Can I help you Luv ?˝ .

People are friendly, helpfull and polite .
