It won't tear, just as long as you take things steady and use a Stanley knife blade to ease/tease the gasket away from the carburettor body... ;)

Yes plus from the battery and mass wire somewhere to the metal of the engine or gearbox. If you want to stop just pull one af the connectors of the coil. Not the sparkplug leads.... ;-)

So, Head off, light shone down the pushrod tubes in the dark(easy at this time of year) and the pinholes blazing like little flamin' beacons.
What is the way to mend them?

How would epoxy glue fare? Would it stand the expansion/contraction and the oil?
