Had a quick blast in the Celeste this afternoon to see what the new Burton shockers are like - first impression is very favourable against the Monroes they replaced - quieter ride, I think less body roll and definitely much less understeer even on torrential rain soaked road.

How can different shocks give a quieter ride? Unless the noise comes from the spring pots, which then means less suspension travel, which again means the Burton ones are stiffer than the Monroes. Am I on to something?

Personally I prefer soft suspension, and therefore chockers that are "soft". Just curious what would be the best buy for mye preferences...

Quieter as in less road patter from the wheels meaning better damping.....

Fortunately mine is now tax free
Took mine out from it’s winter hibernation , started 2nd attempt , did 25miles for no reason , but came back with a smile from ear to ear , passed coming from the other direction a Brooklands Bently old boy (well older than me) wearing a leather flying helmet , he waved !, I gave him the thumbs up in return , that was in Weybridge just 5 miles from the old Brooklands race track , now a Tesco super store ,Pc world, Mother Care, and countless other retailers with buy now special offers , where did the good old days go ? , but hey, spring is just around the corner , and no doubt I will regret selling my Mehari yet again ,

Oddly enough I had the tax rewnewal come through for my 1969 Hillman Imp yesterday. So on one hand DVLA had £80 off me, then nothing for the Imp 8-)

Planning on using mine today - sunshine is out 8-) 8-) 8-)

Out of the 3 cars I own, the 2CV is the one with the highest VED. It comes in at £140pa. The Golf costs me £30pa. The 1932 Minor costs zilch, zero, nada.
