 Local car show pics
I went to a local car show today. Despite being in a drought this summer with no significant rainfall in 4 weeks, they were calling for a 70% chance of rain today. Otherwise there might have been more cars there. Even though we desperately needed the rain, luckily the rain held off long enough for the award ceremony. I won a plaque, Chairman of the car club's choice award which was an honor considering most of the cars were classic American cars. Found a 1/24 scale model off Ebay that matches my car! Looks like the wheels on my car need to be repainted gray. I'm finally compliant with the law but I'm not sure if I like how I mounted my number plate. If I can't get used to it, I may mount it in place of the French plate. I moved my car and parked with the local British car club! The guy with the VW was also in the British car club but brought his Type 1 today. So we had Britain, France and Germany covered in one section! The guy with the Type said he was from Bristol (TN that is) and sort of knew the guy who owned my Citroen. He said the car was originally an olive green color so it's not a real Charleston. Just painted up to look like one.

 Re: Local car show pics
grey charlestons had silver wheels like the bumpers. Another stupid questions why do americans always pimp their oldtimers so much. I see not one on your pictures that seems to be original..??

 Re: Local car show pics
'Olive' green wasn't an option during the 1980's. The only green that Citroen produced the 2CV in throughout the 80's was Bamboo Green 'Vert Bambou'. Sounds possible the car was originally painted something else.

F*** original cars. If you are happy about your car, then you are happy. I have never had an originat 2CV, even my CX 25 RI is converted to something non existing CX-model.

I see not one on your pictures that seems to be original..?? You mean with the lowered suspensions and wheels? Because it looks cool. But I've seen allot of pimped out Fiats at Brooklands. Speaking of pimped out, did you notice the Mini Riley Elf? Burl wood dashboard and leather seats. Just based on photos I've seen on Google, I thought the wheels are supposed to be painted the same color as the doors? https://ranwhenparkeddotnet.files.wordp ... ton-14.jpghttp://www.conceptcarz.com/view/photo/5 ... photo.aspxhttp://www.conceptcarz.com/images/Citro ... CbS_01.jpghttps://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... amps-b.jpgNow this one which has the same color scheme as mine does has silver painted wheels: http://cdn.johnywheels.com/2015/07/05/c ... 3af03e.jpg

I'm trying to keep my Trabant and Citroen as original as possible. About the only thing I have radically altered on the Trabant is the electrical system. The Citroen it will be a radio. I have pimped my Fiat Spider out. Custom T3 turbo system, custom air conditioning system, Honda CRX seats, Panasport polished rims, lowered suspension. But it's taken me 25 years to make these alterations.

 Re: Local car show pics
I just looked at your pictures. The airfilter needs replacing and it is missing it inner and outer pierced metal sleeves. Other tip: tiewrap your paper heating ducts to the cables above. To avoid them falling on the hot exhaust and start a fire. Many 2cv have been burned by that..
