Post Experience with 123Tune electronic ignition anyone?
Hi,

as I am not able to get Geo to respond to my questions about his 1-2-sparc, I fear I have to choose another electronic ignition for our 2CV which is still at the local 2CV specialist for a throughoutful make over.
Has anybody used the 123Tune? Could you recommend it?

Thanks a lot in advance,
Thorsten

Yes, I fitted a standard 123 6 years ago. Have had no problems at all in that time. No experience of the adjustable 123.

Try this guy andrew Acbluemarlin@gmail.com.
Has an Avion with Supercharger, so being able to tune the Ignition was essential.

Cheers

I have tried to get in touch with Geo too, but no luck.
Is it this 123-ignition you have been looking at?

I would have preferred Geo's, I'll give him one more go.

I also like too have 12spark, as you can have 2 systems.
12spark it also better for off road or raid because its out of the ay of all the dirt and crud.....

Yes, that is the one.
I would also prefer Geo's 1-2-spark as I would like to support him. Also I like it that one could install a second ignition system for emergency use. Problem is that he did not respond to my last email, PM, and my question in the 1-2-spark thread - I fear he is occupied by his BMW engine project.

Our 2CV is still at the local 2CV specialist and gets a complete make over, but it will be finished in a few weeks.

Bye, Thorsten

Today the 123-tune was ordered by my local 2CV specialist for me as our 2CV will be ready in 3 weeks latest.
First tour probably will lead us to the German 2CV meeting 2016.
I will report how I like it in a few weeks.

Cheers, Thorsten

Hope it was a good decision to choose this one - my heart still wants 1-2-spark.

Follow up

Our 2 2cv is ready since end of August 2016. In the meantime we put 10,000 miles onto it.

In the beginning we had some misfires with the electronic ignition, tested the conventional points and condenser setup while the 123tune+ was repaired/replaced by the manufacturer. It ran ok but I did not file with the curves until last week. I spoke with a knowledgable guy at our last pub meet and also found a thread about the curve adjustment in a french facebook group. I copied the recommended settings and what a difference it makes - acceleration in the city is much improved. Now I have to test it on the autobahn.

I'm sorry to hear/read this topic right now for the first. How could I miss this topic..

Yes it is true I was bussy with my BMW/2cv at that time and by then I thought 123-tune is available so my ignition wasn't needed anymore..

However it is 2019 and I,m still making 1-2-Spark ignition units;in fact as we speak I'm shipping 3 units to Belgium at the moment, to 4x4 raiders..
Mouth to mouth advertism...

As for 123-tune, it is still a 2D environment, while my ignition is a 3D environment.

If you want a cheap injection and ignition system, I think Megasquirt is still the way to go. In Germany they sell diy kits for 175,- euro (just the ecu) and they work very well..

Speeduino is around the same price but it got only 1/6 of the speed Megascuirt has so it will run into trouble at some point..
