What's it worth?
I want to sell one of my 2cvs to my dad as he wants a retirement project. I don't want to shortchange myself but I also don't want to rip him off. I was thinking it was worth about a grand but I've not had much to do with 2cv stuff for a while. Basically it's a useable body shell with a chassis that's been built up to rolling on its own wheels, everything is èither brand new or refurbished to as-new standard. Does that sound about right?

What's the rest of it like? Does the body need welding at all? If it needs a bit then probs a grand or a bit more.

Why not give it to him? - after all, just think how much they have invested in you, from your birth onwards - wouldn't it be a nice gesture?

There speaks a father, ha ha. Are you talking about the yellow one? Depends, do you reckon there's any risk of him selling it after? If not why not give it to him, he'll finish rebuilding it, look after properly like only a retired bloke can, and then when he gives up driving in 20-30 years he'll give it back to you. Win?

I just wanted a reasonable idea of what it's worth. I don't give a shit what he does with it. When was the last time you idealists went down the cash point took out a bag of sand and gave it away for LOLZ? I wouldn't dream of ripping my own children off. Fucking hippy nonsense.

My 2 hippies,
When some thing is given for "Free" the "Value" of the item may not be appreciated, where as if they buy the item, they have put a Value on the item.
If you get my drift.

Just joshing Russ.....I've bought road worthy for £900 and sheds for £400 so somewhere between the two if it doesn't require a fat lot to get to an MOT...
